So our daughter Rohen had the treatment here. We didn’t really notice that there were problems necessarily but we came in to get her teeth checked and to get them cleaned and when Dr. Tanner started asking us questions if she was having trouble sleeping some light bulbs went off because that’s a real struggle for us. She had been waking up multiple times throughout the night and it was affecting her and the whole family because we couldn’t sleep. Dr. Tanner started explaining it to us and the treatment and what it would look like and some of the implications of having the smaller jaw and not having the airway to breathe. As a nurse it really scared me thinking that’s what waking my daughter up at night is that she can’t breathe. She’s not getting the air that she needs. My husband and I talked about it and did some research and we both came to the conclusions that there was an option we definitely had to do the treatment for her. We were a little nervous because she was not even four years old when she started and we weren’t really sure how she would do with the impressions and the mouthpiece. She’s actually been really intrigued by the process and loves coming in for her checkups and holding the mirror and all of that. That actually wasn’t an issue at all. It’s been a few months since we started and she’s definitely sleeping better. It’s more her sister that wakes her up now and hopefully not her airway. It’s been a really good experience and been so much easier than we expected thus far.
